5 months * 30 days * 24 hours * 60 minutes * 60 seconds / (14.2m - 7.8m) = 1 new blog every two seconds

I assume they forgot the -7.8m :-) If you consider that Technorati is tracking only 20% of the blogosphere, then truly we are growing at 2.5 blogs per second.
