The RSS Blog

News and commentary from the RSS and OPML community.

Other than YouTube, the podcasting and videocasting industries have been very dry these last few months. Yesterday, Marshall Kirkpatrick announced a podcasting mashup called MyPodcastNetwork from his startup SplashCast. MPN is a widget that allows you to put your favorite RSS enclosures on your blog or website. I found the MPN viewer loads very slowly and the video is very jerky.

Around the blogosphere...

  • Todd Cochrane says that SplashCast is hijacking RSS feeds.
  • Adam Curry has two words Content Theft. Marshall responded in the comments. Adam followed that up with "I don’t think you understand what this is about. Ownership and copyright, not to mention a misguided business model at the very least." Looks like a conflict is a brewing.

Personally, I'm still waiting for a complete podcast management solution that also does broadcasts and viewer/listener chat.
