Technology Owl: Steve Jobs announced today that the next version of iTunes, v4.9, will bundle a podcasting directory with one-click subscription, jumping on the bandwagon and presenting a substantial threat to iPodder.

Often those pieces of middleware are purchased by the BigCos and repackaged with the primary product. I think that was the dream. Unfortunately, iPodder was more or less a hack, which didn't translate well to an acquisition.
